Led by founding members ?uestlove and Black Thought, the 6 member group have released 9 albums and are currently in production of their 10th. The band tours extensively, and their live sets are frequently hailed as the best in the hip-hop genre. Recently, the band played a concert in NYC's Radio City Music Hall with Common, Nas, Talib Kweli and Big Daddy Kane. They also backed Jay-Z for thr third time, on his Reasonable Doubt Concert, a celebration of the 10-year anniversary of the release of his first album. Most recently, The Roots appeared at The Coachella Music and Arts Festival on April 27th, and co-headlined ROCK THE BELLS North American Tour with the likes of Rage Against The Machine, Cypress Hill, Wu Tang Clan, Public Enemy, Nas, Mos Def, EPMD, and many more.<br /><br />With combined album sales of over 5 million, The Roots are among hip-hop's top selling acts and certainly its most experienced.
